CDex
is a freeware application that records audio tracks
from a CD-ROM and saves them to a disk as a regular
WAV file. This version features conversion from MP2
to WAV, a small MP3 player, and support for more encoders
(Lame, FAAC, Xing, and so on.). Other features include:
the ability to customize the output file names, support
for third-party encoders, the ability to play MP3
files, support for au and ADPCM/Sun WAV file formats,
the ability to create playlists, proxy support, and
Internet CDDB (CD database) support.

CD-DA Extractor extracts digital CD or DVD audio files
and converts them into WAV, MP3, PCM, or RAW files.

balance the loudness of the tracks using the normalization
feature, a "silence stipper" that removes leading
and trailing (digital or analog) silence, support
for encoding through the external X3Enc encoder, VQF
encoding using Yamaha's TwinVQ encoder, support for
CD-EXTRA discs, and options to swap left and right
channels and synchronize sectors.
