AudioCatalyst is a fast CD encoder that transforms audio CD tracks into digital MP3 files. AudioCatalyst includes the Xing decoder, one of the fastest MP3 encoders available. AudioCatalyst can do "on the fly" MP3 encoding, which skips the WAV file creation step. The program also integrates with the CDDB Internet database for automatically filling in artist, album and track information. Other features include: definable encoding and stop times, normalizing (which corrects recording volume problems), multiple data rate support, file verification, and support for mono, stereo and joint stereo modes.

Audiograbber copies digital music from audio CDs. The music is copied digitally, instead of through the sound card, which enables you to make perfect copies of the originals and store them on your hard drive. Audiograbber can normalize the music and delete silence from the start and end of tracks. You can also sample from external sources via the soundcard. This way you can make MP3, WMA, and WAV files from vinyl, radio, etc. It features direct rip and encode options which lets you rip directly to an MP3 file without first creating a WAV file. It provides integration with MP3 players, so Audiograbber can launch your favorite MP3 player when the tracks have been ripped. Audiograbber also provides CDDB support.

CD Copy lets you copy tracks from an audio CD to a hard drive in a variety of file formats. CDCOPY can save files in WAV, AU, RAW, RealAudio, Yamaha VQF and MPG (layers 1 and 2) formats. Features of CDCopy include: batch file generation; CDDB (CD database) support for retrieving CD track information from the Internet; a sleeve editing and printing utility; CDR-writing; jitter correction; a built-in CD player; lyrics server support; built-in MP3 encoding and decoding; and the ability to combine several tracks into a single file.

CDex is a freeware application that records audio tracks from a CD-ROM and saves them to a disk as a regular WAV file. This version features conversion from MP2 to WAV, a small MP3 player, and support for more encoders (Lame, FAAC, Xing, and so on.). Other features include: the ability to customize the output file names, support for third-party encoders, the ability to play MP3 files, support for au and ADPCM/Sun WAV file formats, the ability to create playlists, proxy support, and Internet CDDB (CD database) support.
